Gap Size: The "nickel gap" is a built-in spacing mechanism in the board's edge profile, designed to leave a consistent 1/8" space (roughly the thickness of a US nickel coin) between boards when they are interlocked.

Installation: The tongue-and-groove or shiplap profile allows for a more secure fit, minimal exposed fasteners, and a quicker, easier installation than traditional flat boards.

1x8 nickel gap boards are versatile and used in a variety of interior projects:
Accent walls
Ceilings
Wainscoting
Farmhouse-style doors and cabinet doors
They can be installed horizontally to make a room feel wider or vertically to make a low ceiling appear higher.
